U/6 Red 23-5-2010 PDF Print E-mail

The U/6 Reds have been playing some very entertaining football. Everyone is developing their passing and dribbling skills with Liam Croker putting on some dribbling shoes that impress the parents. Jayden Cook is a tackling machine while Aaron Stonebridge and Alec Rochaix have made several length of the field runs to come oh so close to putting some goals away. Ty Davis scored a beauty from the sideline previously and Ky Watton scored his first in our last game. All the boys are showing enthusiasm and great interest in who gets the trophy at the end of the game.

Some great stuff from the boys who are constantly entertaining the parents in the cold and often freezing conditions.

Go Appin

The U/6 Reds played at Rosemeadow this weekend and played with tonnes of enthusiasm. The boys ran themselves into the ground and clearly demonstrated their new skills with a convincing win. Liam Croker was rewarded for his excellent efforts as the Player of the Week while Alec Rochaix collected the McDonalds Effort award. All the boys played well and are looking forward to their first home game next week.

The U/6 Reds for 2010 are: William Croker, Alec Rochaix, Aaron Stonebridge, Ty Davis, Ky Watton and Jayden Cook.

2010 Season

Round 6 23-5-2010

The AA1 have been playing plenty of good football thus far and are well placed on the ladder coming up to the half way mark of the season. The team has been struggling to put goals away when it counts against the better teams but seem to flourish in others. Plenty of yellow cards to go with these goals too. Reece Lawson and Phil Heath are leading scorers with 5 with Jeffro Harington and Steve Harmon with 4 each. The midfield has been our backbone in most of the games, creating ample opportunities for the team whilst the backs have been solid week in week out to give the team every fighting chance.

The team has been affected by injuries and absences but have coped with most players being able to help and cover lost players. It’s paying off having 18 players.

The team has had victories against Ruse (2-1), Uniting Church (4-1), St Marys (3-1) and Eschol Park (6-2) with a draw against Eschol Park Gold and a loss against the Falcons .

Our next game is against an undefeated Mt Annan and is a top of the table clash at home. Lets hope the boys can give them a run for their money and close the gap on the competition leaders.

With the team entering the second half of the season soon the team is well placed for semi finals and hopefully can add some silverware to the trophy cabinet.

AA1 Match Reports

Preseason Competition

The AA1 experienced a transition phase this year with some quality experienced players joining the Over 35’s competition. We have been very lucky to find some new recruits that have proved useful finds, as our team went undefeated in the new Macarthur Preseason Cup. The team won 2-1 vs Camden Falcons Div 1, 4-0 vs Cobras Div 2, 3-1 vs Mt Annan Div 3 and finally 2-1 vs Minto Div 2.

The team now moves into the final against none other than the Appin Division 2 team. This much anticipated match up will take pace later in the year and should be a contest worthy of filling the Gordon Lewis Oval.

The team has demonstrated that we should be a top contender for the title again this year and our 2-1 victory over Ruse in our Round 1 game highlighted this.

Our midfielders lead by Reece Lawson, Phil Grogan and Philip Heath were always on the attack and created a platform that enabled the backs to distribute the ball and create plenty of opportunities that were not finished off.

With further training and fitness the team will continue to develop and from this, will put plenty of wins on the board.

U/6 White V's Bradbury Maroon Match Report 17 April 2010 PDF Print E-mail

We had a couple away for our first game. Ethan Ross was off fishing with Grandad and Samantha Hogan was MIA, though they were missed, a fantastic game was had by all. Jayden Morley our player of the week defended and attacked like a trooper!!! Casey Cleaver, our McDonalds Award winner had a pearler of a first game but we need to somehow tape his elbows down!!! Kane Osgood had some moves that even our AA1 team would be impressed with. Zach Hurlstone was in the mix of everything, he defended like he was playing for Australia and went for a couple of goals on the attack, which were unfortunately blocked by Bradbury...maybe next game mate... What can I say about Abby??? Abby played a game against Bradbury with all her heart and soul.  She was there to block Bradbury when needed and was there for her team mates when a pass was to be made. Well Done Kids!!! Keep up the awesome work. Your Coach and Manager are very proud of you.
